Granada - Alhambra in our bags

Its impossible not to fall in love with Alhambra its the crown jewel of human legacy to our world that built with passion and mighty architects of mighty kings of Moorish Kingdoms in Spain.

Lets start to our trip from accammodation. Hotel Los Jerónimos was the place where we stayed. The price was cheap because we found a really good sale in www.booking.com .We paid 20 euros per night, breakfast included. The room was clean, with TV and air conditioned; and the bathroom was big and also clean. We recommend this hotel because it was also located in the city center, so you don’t need to take a bus or walk so much.

Irene complains as usual cause we didnt take bus. We walked :)

How to buy tickets for Alhambra? There are two ways to get the tickets. The first one is going to the entrance of the monument and buy them there, but we recommend you to go early because if you go at 15:00, probably all tickets will have been sold.

Alhambra model. You can find all the models that belongs different time periods.

The second one is buying the tickets by Internet. We used this website http://www.ticketmaster.es/nav/landings/es/mucho_mas/entradas_alhambra/entradas.htmlWhen you arrive to Alhambra, you have to find some machines, introduce the credit card which you used to pay in the website and you will get the tickets. We suggest you to reserve them one week before the visit because it’s common that in some periods, especially in summer, the days are full. The price for normal ticket is 13 euros.

Lovely garden on the way to Generalife

You will need about 3 hours to visit Alhambra and don’t think that in these 3 hours you will be bored. We didn’t realize how much time we spent there because even in every single  little corner has some special features.

Amazing artworks of the Moors.

Doom of a Moorish bath, you can see how they used to enlight the baths.

I’ve never been in Alhambra before. A lot of friends and acquaintances told me about it. They asked me “How haven’t you been in Alhambra? It’s next to Málaga, you can go easily”. My chance to visit it came thanks to Isak. He desired to go to Alhambra, to know in real all what he was reading for some years about the past of Muslims in Spain and why Catholics were so shocked the first time they saw the palace.

After a hot morning walking through city center and a hard rocky road, where we needed to stop three or four times, we arrived to the magnificent Alhambra. For me, Alhambra is the most beautiful old monument I’ve never seen in all my trips. Let me explain how Alhambra is divided in four areas.

Generalife

At first, you can visit Generalife where there are a palace and gardens full of flowers and typical Andalucía plants that welcome you with the sound of the water, a main element in Alhambra.

El Partal

Then, you can have a nice walk till El Partal, very similar to Generalife. El partal is a great example for might of the Muslim architecture. Truly Alhambra is the place that shows the dance of the Moors with water. Alhambra is a perfect place to see the love of the moors to the water.

Palacio Nazaries

Now it’s a good moment to visit the best place in Alhambra, the most charming palaces in the monument. Let’s discover Palacios Nazaries. You will see the most impressive and majestic artworks in Spain, and I dare to say in the world. Every detail contains an indescribable beauty.

Palacio Nazaries

Some times words are not enough to tell the beauty that you see, such as alhambra, impossible to describe its beauty with words thats whay you should check the photos :)

Alcazaba in Alhambra

Our visits finish in Alcazaba, a strategic point to get very nice panoramic photos of Granada. This fortification is the oldest part in Alhambra. There are three towers which made it a strong and authentic construction to defend the different kings during the Muslim reign.
